Challenge description | Challenge background:
Specialty polymers are advanced materials widely used in transportation, electronics, and industrial applications, which can have excellent mechanical properties, fatigue and abrasion resistance, and high-quality surface smoothness. They can also be strong, lightweight polymers, fluids and elastomers, providing competitive solutions, greater design freedom and added value. They play a very important role in reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. However, some specialty polymers are difficult to recycle and reuse. We are looking for companies with knowledge of the following requirements: We are looking for chemical, biological or other innovative ways to depolymerize specialty polymers such as polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK), polysulfone (PSU), polyether sulfone (PESU), and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), decomposing them back to monomer or oligomer state for reuse. |
