Challenge description | Challenge background:
The company is mainly engaged in the leasing of recyclable packaging boxes for auto parts. The plastic packaging boxes are leased to auto parts factories. The auto parts are placed in the boxes and transported to the main engine factory. After being used, the boxes are arranged to be recycled to the warehouse. At present, we have more than 120 customers and recycling points all over the country. Due to the large area and different box models required by customers, there are problems with the allocation of boxes between regions. At present, the company has more than 10 planners for manual deployment. It is necessary to predict the number and types of boxes, warehouse storage, and warehouse locations that customers in the coordination area may need in the future. But for now, they can only guarantee that all the customer orders are met and no customer complaints are received. They cannot assess whether the method is optimal. We are looking for companies with knowledge of the following requirements: We hope that there can be an appropriate mathematical model/algorithm to plan and evaluate the current deployment plan and route. This model/algorithm needs to calculate and distribute the goods in each warehouse, and to incorporate factors such as asset detention time, allocation cost, asset turnover rate, and other factors into the evaluation system in order to reasonably reduce business costs. It would be better to have a similar model for reference, which requires the guidance of experts in related fields. |
