Challenge description | Challenge background:
In terms of medical and health care, SEBS has been used in the production of non-PVC soft bags, disposable infusion tubes, blood bags, surgical sleeves, surgical gowns, tourniquets, blood separators, rubber plugs, medical hoses, medical breathing bags, medical human surgery teaching models, medical breathing masks, medical underarm crutches, and other medical and health products due to its non-toxic, health and safety, easy processing and coloring, chemical resistance and other excellent properties; in the toy market, SEBS relies on its excellent physical properties, as well as the non-toxicity and excellent surface feel of its blends. Technical difficulties: The tourniquets used in hospitals are mainly latex, which are prone to allergies in contact with the human body and are difficult to recycle; It is now expected to study a new type of tourniquet material that can be degraded, has rubber anti-slip properties, and is environmentally friendly in contact with the human body. The research and development products should use FDA-approved SEBS as the main substrate, adjust the mechanical properties of the material by adding food-grade white oil and food-grade PP, and adjust the degradable properties of the material by adjusting the proportion of thermoplastic starch. Index requirements: 1) Anti-slip coefficient ≥ 0.2; 2) Tensile strength ≥ 10; 3) Days for accelerated microbial degradation ≤ 7 days. |
