High-Performance Wall Coatings

The level of pollution resistance of the coating determines the time for the building to maintain its appearance and the cost of subsequent cleaning and maintenance. Therefore, after the concept of self-cleaning was proposed, it has received extensive attention and research, and self-cleaning coatings have also become a research hotspot in the architectural coatings industry. It is now necessary to develop a high-performance antifouling coating based on self-cleaning hybrid resin materials.

Technical Indicators:

• Test of Coating film in contact angle: The contact angle with water is equal or greater than 100°.
• Water resistance of coating film: According to GB/T 1733-93 “Determination of Water Resistance of Paint Film”, there is no change in the surface of the paint film after soaking in water for 24 hours.
• Solvent resistance of coating film: The coating has no peeling, peeling and blistering after soaking in acetone solvent for 24 hours.
• Add 0.5 mL of 1 g/L methyl orange solution dropwise to the coating. After the methyl orange solution is dried, use a self-made UV aging box with a peak wavelength of 365 nm, a power of 500 W, and an irradiation distance of about 15 mm to have a test, and the color will disappear after 7 days.
• Test the antibacterial property of the coating according to GB/T1741-2007 “Determination of Mold Resistance of Paint Film”, and there is no mold growth for 7 days.

The performance of the coating film conforms to the specified indicators in GB/T 9755-2014 Standard for Synthetic Resin Emulsion Exterior Wall Coatings.
